Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Two girls, aged 16 and 15, were allegedly gang-raped by eight men in Hussaingunj in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur late on Sunday, police said.
The girls went on a village pilgrimage with their younger brother and sister aged 12 and 10. The fair is held every year for seven days on Ashtami. On the way back, eight youths seized them and took the younger brother and sister hostage. The two girls were then allegedly gang-raped outside the village on Katri Road.
Police said the survivors regained consciousness, reached their house and told their family members about the incident. The family informed the women's helpline 1090.
Fatehpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kumar Singh, who reached the village early in the morning, said police arrested six persons after identifying them and raids were conducted on the remaining two.
